Van never expected their ex-girlfriend who they haven't spoken to in twenty-three years to call and tell them their childhood best friend has been kidnapped on a random Wednesday morning.

The amusement park is a character in this story, and he spends time fleshing it out without being boring. He’s pacing is on point, it’s not a slow novel by any means, but he’s very good at building up to things, giving you little bits at a time, leading you deeper into the story. Normally, I only read paranormal horror so this novel was a gamble that paid off.īockoven is masterful in his telling of this story. I was intrigued by the plot I wondered where it would go. I really loved ” World War Z” and that book was also set up an interview format.

What attracted me to this book was how it was done interview style. If you’re sensitive to certain kinds of violence, even if violence is more implied than “shown”, you may want to avoid. This novel is about a reporter who is interviewing people regarding the events that occurred in a Disney-like amusement park after a particularly nasty hurricane strands a group of workers.Ĭontent Warning: This novel is graphically violent and at times it’s very disturbing.
